OH: Alcohol-infused ice cream could be home delivered in Ohio if bill passes

COLUMBUS — What would be better than alcohol-infused ice cream? How about the boozy treats delivered to your doorstep?
One Ohio lawmaker is pushing a bill to allow for online ordering and direct shipping of alcohol-infused ice cream to customers as well as permit for delivery via a service such as UberEats or DoorDash.
House Bill 160 is scheduled for a hearing in the State and Local Government Committee this week.
State Rep. Catherine Ingram, D-Cincinnati, said in written testimony that the bill would include safeguards to verify that the buyer is 21 or older. The bill would also allow alcohol-infused ice cream sales from retail liquor establishments.
State law changed in 2017 to allow liquor permit holders to manufacture and sell ice cream that is up to 6 percent alcohol by volume.
Colten Mounce of Buzzed Bull Creamery in Cincinnati testified in favor of the bill, saying it would help him expand his business and reach.
