TUCSON – Football, beer and wine – for many sports lovers, this is the recipe for a perfect evening. Soon, Wildcat fans will soon be able to have this option at every football game at Arizona Stadium.

On Thursday, University of Arizona officials announced beer and wine sales will be available for legal drinking-aged patrons starting Sept. 1, when the Wildcat’s take on against Brigham Young University in their opening game for the season.

Back in March, a state board approved a governmental liquor license for the University of Arizona’s McKale Center. UA was granted an extension on its current license Tuesday by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control. This followed inspections by three separate City of Tucson agencies.

After this approval, UA will join more than 36 other college football stadiums that allow the sale of beer.
