Anchorage, AK – The Alaska Alcohol Beverage Control Board met today in Nome, to address the region’s liquor problems and to examine last month’s listening session that was held in Bethel by state officials, as reported by KYUK.
The main point of contention on today’s meeting agenda was Alaska Commercial Company’s liquor license renewal application, which has been met with opposition by the Bethel City Council. The Company applied for its license before Bethel set its current alcohol mandates.
During the Nome meeting, the Alaska Alcohol Beverage Control Board reviewed Hooper Bay’s Sea Lion Corporation’s alcohol application, to run a liquor store in Bethel, which would transfer a previous license from Bethel Native Corporation.
