ABC suspends license of Eureka bar

On January 26, 2017, Agents with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) posted a ’20 day Notice of Suspension’ at Shooters Off Broadway located in Eureka. At 1:48 a.m., on November 12, 2016, an officer from the Eureka Police Department responded to the bar for a call involving an assault with a deadly weapon. Police found a person who had been stabbed inside the bar by an unidentified man. In addition, officers also determined that a bartender, who was not involved in the stabbing, showed signs of being intoxicated. The officers determined the bartender had a Blood Alcohol Content of .234% and was unable to care for his own safety and the safety of others.
